Descripción
Sumario:This research examines, with some references to Spanish Law, the legal regime of the rural land in Colombia and the importance of this type of land for land use planning and the economic development of the country. After exploring the relationship between rural and urban land, the particularities of rurality, its legal categories and the existing tensions between local, departmental and national authorities in charge of regulating rural land, this paper studies a case involving the environment, rural land and the right to decent housing. From the results of the case study, some alternative legal approaches are proposed for a more efficient use of the Colombian rural land.
