description In the municipality of San Antonio del Tequendama (Cundimarca, Colombia) is the planting of lulo cultivation is being encouraged. However, many aspects of the physiology and management of the species under these ecological conditions are not known. The aim of this research was to study the growth and development of the lulo fruit cultivar Septentrionale. Flowers were tagged during anthesis and nine sampling of fruits from the middle third of the plants every 20 days were made. In each sample, the following variables were determined: fruit fresh and dry mass, firmness, total soluble solids, total titratable acidity and respiratory intensity. At 180 days after anthesis (DAA) the fruits reached harvest maturity with intense orange color and an average mass of 209 g. The behavior of the fruit fresh mass and dry mass was sigmoidal simple. The total titratable acidity and total soluble solids increased with fruit development, while the respiratory rate decreased; firmness increased to 80 DAA and then decreased until harvest. The absolute growth rate increases rapidly and reached its peak at 129 DAA.

En el municipio de San Antonio del Tequendama (Cundinamarca, Colombia) se esta incentivando la siembra del cultivo de lulo, pero se desconocen muchos aspectos relacionados con la fisiologia y el manejo de la especie en estas condiciones agroecologicas. El objetivo fue realizar el estudio del crecimiento y desarrollo del fruto de lulo cultivar var. Septentrionale. Para lo cual se marcaron flores en antesis y se hicieron nueve muestreos de frutos del tercio medio de las plantas cada 20 dias. En cada muestreo se determinaron las siguientes variables: masa fresca y seca de los frutos, firmeza, solidos solubles totales, acidez total titulable e intensidad respiratoria. A los 180 dias, despues de la antesis (DDA), los frutos alcanzaron la madurez de cosecha con una coloracion naranja intensa y una masa promedio de 209 g. El comportamiento de la masa fresca y la masa seca del fruto fue sigmoideo simple lo cual se ajusta a un modelo no lineal de tipo logistico. La acidez total titulable y los solidos solubles totales se incrementaron con el desarrollo del fruto, mientras que la intensidad respiratoria disminuyo y la firmeza aumento hasta los 80 DDA para luego disminuir hasta la cosecha. La tasa absoluta de crecimiento (TAC) se incremento rapidamente y alcanzo su maximo valor No municipio de San Antonio do Tequendama (Cundinamarca, Colombia) esta-se incentivando a semeadura da cultura de lulo, mas desconhecem-se muitos aspectos relacionados com a fisiologia e o manejo da especie em estas condicoes agroecologicas. Para o qual se marcaram flores em antese e se fizeram nove amostragens de frutos do tercio medio das plantas cada 20 dias. Em cada amostragem determinaram-se as seguintes variaveis: materia fresca e seca dos frutos, firmeza, solidos soluveis totais, acidez total titulavel e intensidade respiratoria. Aos 180 dias, depois de antese (DDA), os frutos atingiram a maturidade de colheita com uma coloracao laranja intensa e uma massa media de 209 g. O comportamento da materia fresca e a materia seca do fruto foi sigmoide simples se ajustando a um modelo nao linear de tipo logistico. A acidez total titulavel e os solidos soluveis totais incrementaram-se com o desenvolvimento do fruto, enquanto que a intensidade respiratoria diminuiu, a firmeza aumentou ate os 80 DDA e logo apos diminuiu ate a colheita.
