Sumario:The purpose of this paper is to do an analysis concerning the amount of books published in Colombia on Dentistry. Colombia is one of the Latin American countries in which both research and scientific production still latecomer. Dental profession has not been free from this situation. The first book published in Colombia on Dentistry was Dental technique or observations on the structure, physiology, anatomy and dental diseases, written by American Joseph Watson ver Valen and released in Bogotá in 1849. In 155 years there have been released 100 books, the great majority of them in Bogota and Medellin (92%). According to the gender, 79% of the books have been written by men.
