The objective of this article is to reflect about the spaces of the humanities areas in higher education, in order to train people with integrity and professional ethics. The article details the theoretical and conceptual aspects of humanities. It also offers a proposal for the strengthening of human competence seen from various perspectives (family, society, education, nature, art and professions). Finally, it develops some conclusions considering that the humanities must be applied in any context, not only the academic one, but also the social one. Este artículo de reflexión presenta varios aspectos sobre las humanidades vistas desde diferentes perspectivas. El objetivo de este artículo consiste en reflexionar sobre los espacios de las humanidades en la educación superior, con el fin de formar personas íntegras y con ética profesional. El artículo detalla los aspectos teóricos y conceptuales sobre las humanidades. Así mismo, ofrece una propuesta para el fortalecimiento de la competencia humana vista desde diversos ámbitos (la familia, la sociedad, la educación, la naturaleza, el arte y las profesiones). Para finalizar, desarrolla algunas conclusiones estableciendo que las humanidades deben ser aplicadas en cualquier contexto tanto académico como social. Este artigo de reflexão apresenta vários aspectos das hu-manidades vistas de diferentes perspectivas. O objetivo deste artigo é refletir sobre os espaços das ciências hu-manas no ensino superior, a fim de formar pessoas com integridade e ética profissional. O artigo detalha os as-pectos teóricos e conceituais das humanidades. Também oferece uma proposta para o fortalecimento da compe-tência humana vista de diferentes perspectivas (família, sociedade, educação, natureza, arte e profissões).
