The treatment of childhood cancer involves a demanding medical regimen in which children and their families face with multiple stressors, which cause significant changes in the everyday activities, disruption of family and social roles, the fear of treatment adherence, and a constant threat of death. The present work aims to show through a theoretical review, the role of the pediatric psychooncology, and the progress of its psychological intervention. Resources needed for the reduction of the physical and psychological discomfort of the child and his family during the disease are also showed. 2013-07-01 2020-06-16T22:23:55Z 2020-06-16T22:23:55Z info:eu-repo/semantics/article info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion Artículo revisado por pares https://revistas.usantotomas.edu.co/index.php/diversitas/article/view/1211 10.15332/s1794-9998.2013.0002.04 http://hdl.handle.net/11634/25511 spa https://revistas.usantotomas.edu.co/index.php/diversitas/article/view/1211/1427 application/pdf Universidad Santo Tomás, Bogotá, Colombia Diversitas; Vol. 9 Núm. 2 (2013); 289-304 2256-3067 1794-9998 Diversitas; Vol. 9 No. 2 (2013); 289-304
