description The learning of a second language in the knowledge society, where most of the information is found everywhere, has become more than a necessity in an imperative, that is to say, a fundamental part of the knowledge to be acquired, taking into account that the information travels through the network in any language and at speeds that were unthinkable a few years ago. The objective of this article is to specify in detail the final results of the research project which shows the possibility that first-semester students of dentistry of the Cooperative University of Colombia improve their process of reading comprehension through the use of metacognitive strategies using learning tools mediated by ICT. The study was based on the possibility of constructing questionnaires where reading comprehension is evident and then giving them some metacognitive learning strategies using ICT tools.

El aprendizaje de una segunda lengua en la sociedad del conocimiento, donde la mayor parte de la información se encuentra por doquier, se ha convertido más que en una necesidad en un imperativo, es decir, en parte fundamental del conocimiento a adquirir, teniendo en cuenta que la información viaja a través de la red en cualquier lengua y a velocidades que hace algunos años eran impensables. El objetivo de este artículo es especificar de manera detallada los resultados finales del proyecto de investigación, donde se muestra la posibilidad, que los estudiantes de primer semestre de odontología de la Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia mejoren su proceso de comprensión lectora a través del uso de estrategias metacognitivas haciendo uso de herramientas de aprendizajes mediadas por las TIC. El estudio se basó en la posibilidad de construir cuestionarios donde se evidencie la comprensión lectora, y luego, dándoles algunas estrategias de aprendizaje metacognitivo usando herramientas TIC. L’apprentissage d’une deuxième langue dans la société de la connaissance, où la plus part de l’information se trouve partout, est devenu plus qu’une nécessité, une obligation; c’est-à-dire une partie fondamentale de la connaissance à acquérir, en tenant compte du fait que les informations transitent par Internet dans toutes les langues et, à une vitesse qui était inimaginable il y a quelques annés. L’objectif de cet article est de spécifier en détail les résultats finaux du projet de recherche qui montre la possibilité aux étudiants du premier semestre de dentisterie de l’Université Coopérative de Colombie (Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia) d’améliorer leur processus de compréhension à la lecture à l’aide de stratégies métacognitives, en utilisant des outils d’apprentissage médiatisés par les TIC. L’étude a été basée sur la possibilité de construire des questionnaires où la compréhension en lecture soit mise en évidence et, après, proposer quelques stratégies d´apprentissage métacognitives, utilisant des outils de TIC. A aprendizagem de uma segunda língua na sociedade do conhecimento, onde a maior parte da informação é encontrada em toda parte, tornou-se mais do que uma necessidade em um imperativo, isto é, em uma parte fundamental do conhecimento a ser adquirido, levando em conta que a informação viaja. Através da rede em qualquer idioma e em velocidades que eram impensáveis há alguns anos atrás. O objetivo deste artigo é especificar detalhadamente os resultados finais do projeto de pesquisa que mostra a possibilidade de que os alunos do primeiro semestre de odontologia da Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia melhorem seu processo de compreensão de leitura através do uso de estratégias metacognitivas. Fazendo uso de ferramentas de aprendizagem mediadas por TIC.
