Beyond the discussion about the legal nature of the contract of adhesion, the following article focuses specifically on the analysis of legislative regulation in Colombia about contract of adhesion, since its first appearance in our legal system to the most recent contained in the new consumer protection law, Act 1480 of 2011. El contrato por adhesión ha sido desde su nacimiento una de las instituciones más polémicas del Derecho Privado; a partir de sus características se han esbozado diferentes teorías que van desde las que le niegan el carácter de relación contractual, hasta las que consideranque su utilización es necesaria dentro de la economía de mercado y justificable como herramienta aplicable a los intercambios basadosen la producción masiva de bienes y servicios, típica de nuestros tiempos.
