This reflection takes as its starting point the scientific work of Orlando Fals Borda about the history of the Colombian Caribbean and its proposal for reorganization, as well as the look of the subject from one of his players in the Depresion Momposina, where the ideas of Fals Borda took strength to become the subject of discussion in the Constituent of 91. At the bottom of the reflection is the problem of power and social and human development of the colombian Caribbean, which often remains hidden in the proposals of many leaders politicians who promote the development of the region as a territorial entity. El proceso de regionalización del Caribe colombiano tiene varias miradas, según sea el actor que las promueva, y así como la creación de nuevos municipios y departamentos no cumplieron las promesas y expectativas que crearon en su momento en las poblaciones, lo más probable es que pase lo mismo si algún día pueda crearse la región como ente político- administrativo. Esta reflexión tiene como punto de partida el trabajo científico de Orlando Fals Borda en torno a la Historia del Caribe colombiano y su propuesta de reordenamiento territorial, como también la mirada del tema desde uno de sus actores en la Depresión Momposina, desde donde las ideas de Fals tomaron fuerza hasta llegar a ser objeto de discusión de la Constituyente del 91.
