In this sense, the Law 975 of 2005 contributes to the strengthening of the impunity in Colombia. Este artículo muestra que la ley de Justicia y Paz aprobada por el Congreso colombiano fomenta la impunidad por que abre la puerta de una manera impropia a la posibilidad de que perpetradores puedan recibir generosos beneficios judiciales de manera individual sin dar nada a cambio. Además, dicha ley permite que los miembros de estos grupos armados ilegales se beneficien de amnistías o perdones. Así, la llamada ley de justicia y paz intenta exonerar a los paramilitares de las sentencias que sean proporcionales al daño causado; además, intenta protegerlos de la justicia internacional.
