The networks manage to establish all kinds of links: personal and professional; the citizens who access them enjoy freedom, the users feel that through the tool they can transmit information in a more spontaneous and sincere way, even that, in a direct and personal dialogue with the receiver of the information, in the scenario of New Technologies of Information and Communication-NTIC-. Social networks offer users access to communication in real time, which facilitates and makes the use of these is striking for all kinds of people. However, with the publication of personal information on social networks, risks may arise that could affect the rights of people. Weakness in information security systems enables the emergence of cases where the right to privacy is violated. Taking into account this contextual reality, an analysis is carried out from the constitutional perspective, identifying the limits of the right to privacy of Colombian citizens who access social networks and the possibilities of protection of the right to privacy from the legal regulation in front of the publication in such networks. The conclusion is reached that the legal regulations are still insufficient and that the necessary guarantees are not available to fully repair the moral and economic damages caused. Las Redes sociales se han convertido en la ruta más fácil para comunicarse y darse a conocer al mundo, por medio de estas se logran establecer vínculos de todo tipo: personales y profesionales, los ciudadanos que acceden a estas gozan de libertad, los usuarios sienten que a través de la herramienta pueden trasmitir información de una manera más espontánea y sincera, incluso que en un dialogo directo y personal con el receptor de la información, en el escenario de las Nuevas Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación-NTIC- las redes sociales ofrecen a los usuarios acceso a la comunicación en tiempo real, inmediata, lo que facilita y hace que el uso de estas sea llamativo para toda clase de personas. En la misma proporción como las NTIC avanzan la intimidad desaparece, para el ciudadano moderno es importante proyectar una imagen y conservar el buen nombre ante la sociedad que lo etiqueta y lo clasifica de acuerdo a la información que publica o comparte, y qué mejor medio que las redes sociales para lograr esto. La intimidad como derecho fundamental goza de protección especiRal mediante la acción de tutela donde se protege la vida privada y familiar del ciudadano afectado. Es necesario adquirir una nueva cultura para el manejo adecuado de las NTIC y así evitar ser víctimas de conductas que pueden tipificarse como delitos informáticos. As redes sociais tornaram-se a via mais fácil de se comunicar e se dar a conhecer ao mundo. Através destes, são estabelecidos links de todos os tipos: pessoais e profissionais. Os cidadãos que acessam estes, gozam da liberdade. Os usuários sentem que através da ferramenta podem transmitir informações de forma mais espontânea e sincera, mesmo do que em um diálogo direto e pessoal com o destinatário da informação. No cenário das novas tecnologias de informação e comunicação, a NTIC, as redes sociais oferecem aos usuários acesso à comunicação imediata em tempo real, o que facilita e faz do que o seu uso chame a atenção para todos os tipos de pessoas. Na mesma proporção que o NICT vai avançando, a intimidade desaparece. Para o cidadão moderno, é importante projetar uma imagem e manter o bom nome ante a sociedade que o rotula e classifica de acordo com a informação que publica ou compartilha, e qué melhor do que as redes sociais para conseguir isso. A intimidade como direito fundamental tem proteção especial através da ação de tutela em que a vida privada e familiar do cidadão afetado é protegida.
