For human beings, this topic is usually avoided because surely very few of them would consciously wish to experience such an inevitable event. However, situations arise in the lives of many people where the subject of death acquires a compelling meaning, in such a way that it is necessary to face it. It is about those who suffer terrible diseases declared medically as terminally ill. The terminal diseases characterized by being progressive and incurable, contain a great suffering both physical and mental not only in the patient who suffers, but also in the family around him. Thus, the terminally ill patient is enduring deep afflictions and strong ailments with no possibility of healing. The ailments are usually intolerable due to the fact that even palliative medicine does not achieve pain through its drugs. Because of this, the terminal patient who is the subject of decisions, with full freedom over his body that is torn by suffering, may reach the conclusion that it is not worthwhile to continue living in that way. In that sense, death is no longer the subject that is avoided, because death becomes an event longed for, and eagerness turns to the desire that death comes soon, that it does not stop along the way, that it speeds its steps , because she will put an end to the irresistible pain and the cracking of an anatomy that progressively deteriorates. The problem of death does not simply consist in its inevitability because it will come at any time in life, forever limiting the possibilities of existence in the human being. It is a problem equally when it does not appear at the right moment in those human beings whose existence was interrupted due to the terminal illness they suffer, because equally the limit of all possibility of existences is the prostration, the stagnation of all action and movement, and that the human being not only has life, but also, personal existence. In this aspect, the human being under certain circumstances can be driven to the need to end suffering by definitively giving up his life when the quality of it is degraded. Therefore, euthanasia as a right to die with dignity is presented as the option of providing a terminally ill person suffering, an assisted and painless death. Consequently, euthanasia confronts man with the sense of his existence when it is overshadowed by intense suffering and unbearable pain caused by terminal illness. application/pdf spa http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/2.5/co/ Atribución-NoComercial-SinDerivadas 2.5 Colombia info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2 Eutanasia Pacientes terminales Filosofía Euthanasia Sense of Existence Terminal patient Dignified Death Legal Position FILOSOFÍA DEL DERECHO TEORÍA JURÍDICA CONSTITUCIÓN POLÍTICA DE COLOMBIA DERECHO FUNDAMENTAL LIBERTAD Eutanasia Sentido de la Existencia Enfermo Terminal Muerte Digna Posición Jurídica La eutanasia como enfrentamiento al sentido de la existencia en el enfermo terminal Tesis de Maestría info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersion http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_bdcc http://purl.org/coar/version/c_ab4af688f83e57aa info:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesis ARRIAZA, Romero Purificación D, GRANADOS, León Sandra, MARTINEZ, Atienzia Juan Fernando, SANCHEZ, Jiménez Cristina.
