| Sumario: | In pursue of constructing the political arena in the latter_x000D_
modernity, Boaventura de Sousa Santos’ and Chantal Mouffe’s_x000D_
proposals are articulated in this essay. Needing to overcome_x000D_
modern logics of thought on politics and legitimacy, to meet the_x000D_
present and recognize multiplicities wove throughout social_x000D_
tissue are required. In this course, Ricoeur’s view on recognition_x000D_
urges to incorporate a pluralist and agonic conception of_x000D_
politics, as well as a criticism of some modern prejudices that_x000D_
would prevent us from thinking of various, rich and thick_x000D_
language games which are woven around democracy in our_x000D_
days.
