Sumario:Keynesian thought can be understood as a derivation of mercantilist ideas. The mercantilist systems cannot be only seen as a trader group which most important purpose was to make rich to the State and themselves, but also it should be analyzed from the economic theory perspective, because it was equally important to think about employment, for example. The Keynes ideas cannot be seen in the void, but they should be analyzed from historic ideas context, and thus as a product of the future. The document ends acknowledging the contributions to mercantilist theories, especially in the discussion about the employment from the Keynesian view.
