Although there are some methods to analyze much complex structure, there is a tendency to keep modeling the same type of structures. The finite element method and its implementation by computational applications lets to model any kind of structure, even those structures which do not have a clear behavior facing any type of load; some of these structures are corbels, footing over piles, shells and concrete connections. The finite element modeling software displays the structural behavior by graphics where can be discussed critical zones giving more accurate results by the proper use of frontiers. This method is based on the conversion from the equilibrium equations to linear or non linear system to reach the solution of both the static and dynamic analysis. By using specialized software, in this case Ansys Civilfem, it must be recognized that the finite element method gives a better approximation of the behavior of a structure under real conditions, making easier not only the searching of the problems but also designs and geometrics that can improve the structure performance.
