Sumario:The systemic organization is a socio-technical configuration developed by banking on a global level during the last decades, whose fundamental components are: on the one hand, the online organization, which implies processes of informatization, internal systematization and permanent interlinking between networks of suppliers and clients with diverse degrees of interconnection, in extremely competitive environments; on the other hand, internal and external organizational flexibility (Ibarra, 2003; Nohria and Eccles, 1992; Weiss, 2008, Weiss et al., 2010). The objective of this research was to find out to what degree the Colombian banking system is configured as a systemic organization. Conclusions were that, despite heterogeneity in the use of information and communication technologies, (ICTs), the bank tends to consolidate itself as a systemic type of organization, transforming significantly its relationship with clients, suppliers, labor organization, worker profiles and labor relations. From the methodological perspective of triangulation, qualitative techniques (interviews and group discussions) and quantitative techniques (surveys) were integrated, using the two in a complementary manner.
