The challenges of mobility within the municipality of ltagüí are identified by the daily use of 25,000 vehicles that pass through the center of the municipality and 100,000 that circulate along the southern highway, the city's infrastructure is not suitable for the high flow of vehicles which generate congestion on the roads and slow traffic, in turn, there are no investment policies in the planning instruments such as the Territorial Planning Plan of Itagüí (Local Road Safety Plan of ltagüí, 2018). According to the above, this article emphasizes the concept of mobiiity from a different perspective, for this purprse there must be tools for action and awareness, placing this issue at the center of the ltagüí municipality's agenda for development sustainable, so as to reduce the impact that the current model of urban mobility has on people's qualis of life. La movilidad en términos de sostenibilidad es un concepto que tiene cada vez más relevancia en un municipio como ltagüí que ha crecido y que se encuentra ubicado en el sur del Valle de Aburrá, siendo paso obligatorio para varios municipios vecinos como es el caso de La Estrella, Caldas, Amagá y el Corregimíento de San Antonio de Prado (Plan local de Seguridad Vial de ltagúi 2018). Los retos de la movilidad al interior del municipio de ltagüí se identifican por el uso diario de 25.000 vehículos que transitan por el centro del municipio y 100.000 que circulan por la autopista sur, la infraestructura de la ciudad no es apta para el alto flujo de vehículos lo que genera congestión en las vías y el tránsito lento, a su vez, no se encuentran políticas de inversión en los instrumentos de planeación como el Plan de Ordenamiento Territorial de ltagüí (Plan local de Seguridad Vial de ltagüí, 2018). De acuerdo a lo anterior, el presente artículo hace énfasis en el concepto de movilidad desde una perspectiva diferente, para este fin debe haber herramientas para la acción y la sensibilización, colocando este tema en el centro de la agenda del municipio de Itagüí para el desarrollo sostenible, de modo que se logre disminuir el impacto que el modelo actual de movilidad urbana tiene en la calidad de vida de las personas.
